Kindergarten
Each week, students will be hearing books that help them to learn how to care for library books. When they have demonstrated that they understand how to be responsible for library books, they will begin to borrow a book each week from the school's library.

Grade 1
Review of care of books is the topic of our classes in grade 1.

Grade 2
Students are hearing books by author/illustrator Chris Van Allsburg. His books are being used to teach the students about the Caldecott Award.

Grade 3
Students are hearing books by Washington Irving and identifying characters, setting, and plot.

Grade 4
Students are learning about the Dewey Decimal System. They are choosing books each week from the various sections of the Dewey Decimal System and keeping a reading log in class.

Grade 5


Grade 6

Students are learning how to do advanced searches in the Computer Catalog and online in order to refine their searches and focus them to find materials that are most suited to their needs.

Grade 7
Students are learning how to do advanced searches in the Computer Catalog and online in order to refine their searches and focus them to find materials that are most suited to their needs.

Grade 8
Students are learning about literary techniques used by authors. This is being done in the context of a unit of short stories by Edgar Allan Poe.
